Once upon a time it was simple

Was it ever really that way

Looking through photographs 

Of all the time that’s past

Each one leading to this day

 

Once a dream was discovered

Patiently waiting in waves

A gentle reminder has opened the harbor

The only way out’s to be brave 

 

Not waiting on something great 

Frozen in time for a road to be paved

Oh no it starts today

The moment is here

Brick by brick I’ll find a way 

 

One foot in front of the other

Without really knowing the way 

Wanting for nothing but hoping to find

That there’s multiple paths to the grave

 

I know that there is no easy road

So I welcome growing pains

But I’m a little taller today

Than I was yesterday

Hardships keep giving me grace
